Obituary for Wilbur McNew
Wilbur J. McNew, 76, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Saturday, January 21, 2023 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born May 6, 1946 in Chambersburg he was the son of the late Wilbur H. and Emma (Rhone) McNew.
He was employed as a truck driver for 52 years working for various companies throughout his career. Wilbur loved all things cars, from restoring classics, attending car shows, and collecting Hot Wheels and Matchbox Cars. He also enjoyed riding his motor cycle, four-wheelers, and camping with his wife.
Wilbur is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Bertha (Cook) McNew; two sons, Lonnie D. McNew and Vaughn A. McNew; ten granddaughters; one grandson; numerous great-grandchildren; three siblings, Melita Gsell, Lynn Wood, and Melissa McNew; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three siblings, Vivian Strine, Foster McNew, and Desmond McNew.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 18, 2023 in Freedom In Christ Church, 4042 Sycamore Grove Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
