Obituary for Vanessa Latherow
Vanessa Joe Latherow, 60, of Chambersburg, PA passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 21, 2021 in the Chambersburg Hospital ICU. She was born June 10, 1961 in Chambersburg. She was the daughter of the late Merle Frederick Gordon of Mercersburg and Vada Mae Kessell of Chambersburg.
Vanessa was a graduate of McConnellsburg High School. She went on to obtain many professional certificates. To name a few, she worked as a nursing assistant at Piney Mountain, taught at Vo-Tech as a professional cake decorator and quantity foods, and managed the Farnsworth House restaurant. She was loved by many. She had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. She loved her family dearly. She was very proud of her daughter Jade.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Jade Marie Latherow of Chambersburg. In addition, she helped raise her niece Vicktoria Gordon of Leechburg; four siblings: Pamela Dupuis (longtime partner of Daniel Beatrez) of Mercersburg; Sharon Miller of Chambersburg; Frederick (Fred) Gordon of Mercersburg; and Nichole Roley (wife of Shawn Roley) of Ohio; and her elderly cat, Willow, whom she had since she was a baby kitten.
No formal services will be held. Her family will have a small gathering to celebrate her life, at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Simple Choice Cremation Services, Inc., Chambersburg.
