Obituary for Rosalie Hasenohrl

Rosalie Ann (Plummer) Hasenohrl was born May 23, 1951, in Butte, Montana to Stanley and Betty (Lindsay) Plummer. Rosalie passed away in the early morning hours on September 25, 2022, at the age of 71 after a brief battle with COVID.

Rosalie initially began her schooling in Butte, Montana and attended there until the family moved to Chinook, Montana where she attended elementary school until the family moved again in 1962, this time to Helena, Montana where she continued her schooling and graduated from Helena High School in 1970.

After graduation, Rosalie spent her early working years as a waitress/server at various restaurants in the Helena area, with The House of Wong being among her most favorite. As this chapter in her life closed and another began; she embarked on her career as a Dispatcher with the Lewis & Clark County Sheriff’s Office. This was a position she loved and excelled at. She was also an integral part of the training that the new dispatchers went through which was a task that she was very passionate about as she believed that the position was a critically important one due to the extreme need for the dispatcher’s to be complete and accurate in relaying information to the officers in Emergency situations. During this same time period, she also became involved with the Sheriff’s Reserve where she dutifully served as a Reserve Deputy for many years. After her many years of service working for the County; Rosalie changed courses and began her employment with the State of Montana. There she worked for the State Auditor’s Office; another position she excelled at and enjoyed immensely. It was there, in her position at the State Auditor’s Office that Rosalie completed her years of working in Montana. As was typical for Rosalie, her coworkers at both the County and the State became very close personal friends to her and her family. The majority of whom she maintained caring and loving relationships with until her final days. Never one to sit idle, Rosalie was employed in the Deli of a local grocery store (Sunnyway) in Pennsylvania until she finally decided her years in the workforce had reached an end.

Rosalie was blessed by the birth of her two daughters, Stacey Kae in 1972 and Heather Dawn in 1979. These two girls completed Rosalie’s world. She was united in marriage to James Hasenohrl in 1976. They were later divorced, and Rosalie spent the remainder of her life happily single with her many fur babies being her lifelong partners.

Although she was only able to have two children of her own, Rosalie happily and fully participated in the birthing process of her sister Lori’s 6 children; remaining by her side and making certain all was well, even calling for a police escort to the Hospital at the birth of her nephew Christopher who decided to take the world by storm and arrive earlier and much quicker than was anticipated! She was dearly loved by all of them from the day of their birth forward. Aunt Rosalie held special presence in the lives of all her nieces and nephews; providing them with many endearing commands (best known as Aunt Rosalieisms) and completed with loving bites to their foreheads and noses (chocolate marshmallows) as she deemed necessary.

Family was an important part of Rosalie’s life, and she spent her last years in Montana as a loving caregiver to her dad in the final years of his life. After his death, Rosalie then moved to Pennsylvania with her two daughters and their families where she spent the remainder of her life.

Rosalie was preceded in death by her Grandparents, parents and most recently by her daughter Stacey Kae in November 2021. She is survived by her daughter Heather Davis (Adam) Chambersburg, PA; her grandchildren Kalinna Houser (Alex) and their children Mathias and Roman of Chambersburg, PA, Kelsey Sarsfield and his son Travis of St. Thomas, PA; Dakota Davis of Chambersburg, PA and Cheyenne and Jeremiah Davis of Elliston, MT. In addition, she is survived by her sister Lori Plummer (Alex) of Glasgow, MT, Tammy Fenstermacher (Kenny), of Helena, MT, and Craig Plummer (Sherri) of Lincoln, MT. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service for family and friends will be held in Pennsylvania, date to be announced soon and in addition there will be a Memorial Service for family and friends of both Rosalie and Stacey to be held in Montana in the Summer of 2023. Please join as at those times to share your stories and memories of our beloved family member(s).

It is with very heavy hearts that we say Good-Bye to Rosalie; but we rejoice in knowing that she is no longer in pain and has once again been reunited with all who earned their wings ahead of her. Fly high my sister; we all love and miss you so very much and will be looking ahead to the time when we can all be together again!
