Obituary for Mickey Sweger

Mickey C. “Mick” Sweger, 53, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2021 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born October 15, 1967 in Chambersburg he was the son of Harvey and Hazel (Mort) Sweger of St. Thomas, PA.

He was a lifelong resident of the St. Thomas and Chambersburg area. Mick was a graduate of the James Buchanan High School with the Class of 1986. He also attended Franklin County Vo-Tech in Building Trade Maintenance. He worked numerous jobs as an assembler and mechanic throughout his life.

Mickey was a private person. He enjoyed working on cars and going to car shows with his wife. He also enjoyed watching his favorite show, Street Outlaws, wrestling and also listening to classic rock music.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife, Shawn A. (Rice) Sweger; a sister, Paula Roberston and her husband Keith; a brother, Brian Sweger; paternal grandfather Leonard Ballerstadt and his wife Haydee; two nephews Jeremy and Cole Roberston; and a grand-niece and a number of nephews, aunts and uncles.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Alliene Ballerstadt; maternal grandparents, Donald and Helen Mort; an uncle Barry Sweger; an aunt, Lynette Svendsen; and a great nephew, Eli Roberston.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by SimpleChoice Cremation Services, Inc., Chambersburg, PA.
