Obituary for Mary Truman
Mary Truman, 75, lifelong resident of Chambersburg PA, passed away on Sept. 3, 2021. She passed away peacefully surrounded by family after a brief illness.
She may not have traveled far but she is known for her love of her husband, parents, brothers and sisters, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and wonderful friends. You could not enter or leave the house without a kiss, a hug and “l love you”.
She retired from Letterkenny after working many years. You might have met her at Woolworths or the Patch in her younger years.
She is survived by her husband, Mike Truman Sr.; children, Kim Shannon (Ken Shannon) of Williamsburg, VA, Kevin Truman (Cheri Truman) of Mechanicsburg, Jennifer Ray (Rev. Neil Ray) of McConnellsburg, Bob Truman of Chambersburg, Michael Truman Jr (Stacy Truman) of Chambersburg, Angi Davenport (Jason Davenport) of Chambersburg, and Andrew Truman of Charleston, SC. She is loved by 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her sisters, Joan Peters of Chambersburg, Peggy Woltz of Canal Winchester, OH and Patricia Varner of Mechanicsburg and brother Tom Crist, Florida. As well as Sister-in-law Beatrice Clark of Chambersburg, brother-in-law Scott Truman (Judy Truman) of Birdsboro and Judy Fitch Truman of Lincoln University.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marie and Martin Crist; brothers Martin Crist, Jr., Richard Crist, Jim Crist, Bernard Crist and sister Barbara Jean Crist. In addition, brother-in-law Van Truman, daughter-in-law Vickie Truman and granddaughters Heidi Schweitzer and Elizabeth Shannon
Services will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 1165 Crottlestown Road, Chambersburg PA 17201 on Sunday, Sept 19, 2021 at 6:00 PM. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Sunday evening in the church. Arrangements are by SimpleChoice Cremation Services, Inc.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Calvary Baptist Church.
