Obituary for Daniel "Danny" Wood
Daniel R. Wood, 65, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2022 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born August 11, 1956 in Franklin, PA he was the son of the late George and Edith (Jones) Wood. He resided in Franklin until moving to Chambersburg in 1979.
He is survived by two children, Nikole Martin (Ellis “Butch” Martin) and David Wood both of Chambersburg; eight grandchildren, Brandis Martin, Ian Wood, Rylee Martin, Krysta Turner-Wingfield, D.J. Wood, Cody Wood, Savannah Drum and Daniel Hernandez; three sisters, Mary Page (Homer) of Polk PA, Cheryl Zawrotuk (Ron) of Butler PA and Darlene “Dolly” D’Ambrosio (Greg) Chambersburg; and a brother Robert “Jake” Wood of Port Orchard, WA. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Wood and sister, Debra Rockwell.
Daniel was known by many names - Uncle Danny, Danny, Uncle Dunkin, Pappy, Grandpa, Lt Dan and many more. He loved his family more than life itself. You would always find the Pirates, Steelers or Penguins on his TV even if it was a rerun. Anyone that may have crossed paths with him instantly fell in love with his personality and humor. He never missed a birthday. He will be truly missed but never forgotten.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by SimpleChoice Cremation Services Inc., Chambersburg.
