Obituary for Allan Quynn

Allan Ray Quynn, age 91, of Scotland, PA, passed away August 30, 2022 at his home in Scotland, PA. Born in Brooklyn, NY January 10, 1931, he was the son of Norman and Viola Quynn.

He attended Murray Hill High School in Brooklyn, NY. He then attended Drake Vo-Tech after high school to study architectural drafting. He served four years in the U.S. Army, 817th Engineer Aviation, from 1949 to 1953.

Allan was stationed in England where he met the love of his life, his wife, Eunice. After the service, Allan moved to Scotland PA and was employed by T.B. Woods in Chambersburg for 37 happy years. He also had a mail order stamp business in the sixties.

Allan loved to spend time with family hiking on the Appalachian Trail Sunday afternoons. He was a master furniture maker and also enjoyed bowling and archery. Allan also shared a love of genealogy with his beloved sister Evelyn Hoffman.

Allan is survived by his wife of 70 years, Eunice Dixon Quynn, whom he married February 23, 1952, Manchester, UK.
Allan is also survived by four children which include Jean Crean and husband Steve of Clayton, DE, Norman Quynn and wife Patricia of Kennett Square, PA, Barbara Hoffmann and husband John of Milton, DE, Allan Quynn and wife Jill of Chambersburg, PA. Allan is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

A private family Celebration of Life will be planned at a later time.
